I was hit in the neck/head in a sport related activity. A few days later my eye socket and near brow line hurt. It makes me feel dizzy and it hurts and feels like shooting pain. When this happens it throws me off guard and it s hard to regain focus for a few seconds

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have pain in eye socket and dizziness after head injury . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like migraine , ear infection and condition like meniere's disease . but in your case the symptoms are due to 'Post-traumatic vertigo' which occur after head injury or there can also be a chances concussion . I would suggest you to consult neurologist for dizzy spells as eairly as possible as you have shooting pain and dizzy spell along with loss of sense for few seconds at the time of injury . Doctor may order CT scan and will examine physically to rule out concussion . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with pain killer and anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for ear problem or ophthalmologist if he/she find any injury in eye . For mow take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and apply warm compresses to to eye . Avoid bending forward and stay calm .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
