What Causes Pain In Forehead With Vomiting And Fever In A Child?
Hello, my son is 5 he had recent onset on forhead pain last night...pain that would wake him up crying...he has a mild fever only around 100...he started vomiting this morning and had not eaten anything did drink a few sips of water but has projectile vomited about 5 times today...I has not had any recent head trauma and pupils are equally reactive the pain is only in his forehead...I am thinking he has a virus from the kids who were visiting over the weekend he has been sleeping as much as he can...I am giving antiemetic and ibuprofen ... Just not sure how long to wait it out I m also going to try some pedialyte...what are you recommendations
As age is mentioned but not accurately [is it 5 months or years], the following is my opinion: - walk-in emergency room who will look out for bulging fontanelle and neck stiffness to rule out meningitis - They will inspect both eardrums for any swelling/redness - If vomiting is forceful and projectile, it could be hypertrophic pyloric stenosis - It could be overfeeding or faulty feeding
PS. It is wise to consult a pediatrician who after a complete examination will ask for appropriate investigations and systemic management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
