Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pain in my groin and had an X-ray, had therapy, and the pain comes more when Ian sitting. I stretch it when I play tennis and doesn t hurt then, but when I done , I limp . What is steniitus , maybe that s what I have? The X-ray shows that its not my hip .
You are experiencing pain in the groin area. Sometimes, the pain makes you limp. You had an X-ray done and it shows that you don't have any problem with your hip. Pain in the groin area is commonly due to testicular torsion, orchitis, epididymitis, prostatitis, inguinal hernia, etc. You are suggested to get your groin clinically examined by a Urologist. He will tell you to get few required tests and investigations done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort so that treatment can be started at the earliest.
You will be given conservative treatment or recommended surgery if needed. Avoid sex or any sexual activity for a couple of days while you will be treated. In the meantime, do not engage yourself in anything that is strenuous, exhausting, avoid lifting heavy weight, stay at rest. You can take NSAIDS, Naproxen or Combiflam, one SOS when needed to get rid of discomfort due to pain.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
