What Causes Pain In Groin Radiating To The Knee?

I began to have discomfort and a feeling of pain in my left leg from just above the knee to the groin area. Also felt a bit swollen. This was at night after being asleep for a while. Also had extremely sharp along the outside of that area when touched or rubbed,

I understand your concern.
The symptoms you are mentioning of having pain in the groin and radiating to knee of left leg could be early symptoms of inguinal hernia or could be caused due to presence of ureteric calculi.
It would be better to get yourself check-up at the earliest by consulting Surgeon. Upon clinical examination and investigations like ultrasound scan, the diagnosis could be confirmed.
Accordingly, management could be planned and executed.
