What Causes Pain In Groin Upon Exertion?

I am a 56 year old female in generally good health. I recently started running on my treadmill. I ve made it 3 miles a few times. After the last time I had some severe groin area pain on my left side. It isn t always there but I am unable to run without pain so just walk. I still have pain walking but it comes and goes. Now it moved to what feels like the inside of my left thigh. ??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
I think it is severe groin strain due to excessive excretion.

Other cause may be hernia, osteoarthritis and nerve compression.

Take following advice:
Take proper rest
Avoid exertion and physical activity
Tablet ibuprofen
Apply volini gel with gentle massage
Wear comfortable foot wear
Loose garments
Cold compression
Elevate your leg when you take rest
Eat healthy diet

If not resolves consult the doctor and physiotherapy
Do xray hip and proper examination to diagnose problem

Hope this may help you
Best regards
