What Causes Pain In Head, Neck And Arm Of A Diabetic Post Injury?
Yes, I m 52 years old with diabetes, highblood pressure, and thyroid patient. I stepped into the shower and felled backwards the back of my head hit the tub really hard...know I m having some pains radiating down my left side of neck and arm, no swelling using ice pack...should I be concern
Hello I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. To conclude a diagnosis and treat the cause of pain it is essential to rule out any bone injury that might have occurred. Taking an X-ray of neck and arm will be of help, if the X-ray shows no injury then start with medications for pain available over the counter like Tylenol thrice a day for three days, after three days use only when needed till pain subside. Application of pain ointment like Voltaren over the affected area will also be helpful. Continue taking the medications for diabetes and hypertension to decrease the time to heal from injury. If the test results show injury to either bone or ligament or muscle fiber tear than see an orthopedic doctor. As the treatment will require measures that can be taken care by a specialist. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
