What Causes Pain In Heal And Foot Radiating Into Leg?

Hello. The heal and bottom of my foot is very sore... I can t see anything wrong with it but when I step down on it the pain increases... I had to walk home today with my backpack and the weight of the bag made it worse... Pain radiated from my foot and up into my leg. I m not sure what is wrong. I m clumsy so I may have tweaked it, but I want to know what I should do... Thank you for your time.

Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns. From your description it sounds like you have plantar fasciitis. This is a common problem of the foot where the tendons on the bottom of the foot become inflamed and cause heel pain. The best treatment is using a heel cup in your shoe and taking anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen.
