Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In Heel With Stiffness In Knees And Hips?
I went to podiatrist for heel pain, dx: achilles tendon tight and I do strethes and wear a Darco book to maintain proper position during sleep. New running shoes that he recommended purchased and they feel great. I m walking about 15 miles per week (16 mins/mile). I know I am overweight 210 lbs and 5 6 but as I m trying to exercise, it is impeding my ability to remain active. Hurts more in the morning and if I am not wearing shoes. My hips and knees are also stiff in the morning and worse when I get up after sitting for 30 minutes. I have a habit of self diagnosing myself since I m a nurse but curious as to your opinion. I plan on calling my PCP this week
The symptoms you mentioned are suggestive of Osteoarthritis in which there is joints inflammation and obesity is one of its common causes. Vitamin D3 deficiency further worsen it. I would recommend you to do some investigations to evaluate and screen medical conditions including Vitamin D3 levels, ESR, CRP, Uric acid and calcium levels.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Wajahat Baig, Internal Medicine Specialist
