Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi...my mother is 82 and has hip pain that goes all the way to her foot. Right now she is having more foot and ankle pain than hip pain. She has had a steroid pack, a steroid nice tin, X-rays, increased pain medication, tried Mobic, now trying Neurotin. She is with hospice because of some kidney failure. They even brought a portable X-ray out and found nothing from that. I am so puzzled as is her nurse.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in hip radiating to foot. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sciatica , tendinitis , disc problem or peripheral neuropathy . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or physical examination by checking movement of leg . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory , vitamin supplement for quick recovery and for nerve health . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy and particular stretching exercises . For now take proper rest and apply warm compresses to back and leg . Also take pain killer prescribed by your doctor .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
