Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi,I had my my L5 si 4 weeks ago. I m experiencing excruciating pain in both hips and lowed abdomen. Surgery sites and bone graft healed nicely. I have extreme pain getting out of bed and staying on my feet for more than hour or two. The Dr completed bloodwork 2 weeks in a row yo check for markers for infection, the markers went from 54 to 46. I go next next week for a CT Scan. This is my 5th surgical procedure since Dec, 2013. 3 spinal fusions and one debris removal after an infection The 5th one is L5 si using my own bone for the graft. Please provide me feedback...is this normal...if its not infection what?
The symptoms will take 6-8 weeks after the surgery to get resolved. Kindly take some supplements containing pregabalin and methylcobalamin (available on prescription). Do consult physiotherapy specialist to guide you in some stretching exercise and the correct position to get out of the bed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nagamani N. G., General & Family Physician
