What Causes Pain In Kidney Of A Person While On Low Fluid Intake?

I recently acquired a kidney stone in my left kidney, mostly due to an overdose of vitamins and minerals. Up until then, I ve never had a problem with fluid intake. Now I never seem to get thirsty and have to force myself to drink fluids. I could go most of the day without really drinking anything. I ve been noticing pains in my left kidney whenever I don t drink enough. Now the pain has went to my right kidney. What s the problem and what should be done about it?

Hi,

Drinking lots of fluids is the only way to push the kidney stone to urinary bladder and then eliminate it through urine. If you will not drink enough water, you will keep suffering from painful episodes you are having and won't find any relief. However, the pain of kidney do not migrate from left to right or right to left. If you have pain in right kidney too, you may have presence of stones in right kidney too.

It will seem hard to drink water for a few days, but you will get habituated with it soon. Drink one glass every half an hour. Keep switching to different fluids like different fruit juices, lemon juice, vegetable juices etc. Ideally, in a person with kidney stone, amount of fluid consumption should be such that that at least 4 liters of urine output is gained.

Even though you can go whole day without water, it is surely not good for your body. Water is the best solvent to dilute all the toxins in the body and eliminate them through urine and keep you healthy.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic.

Best,
