My husband has diverticulitis. He was on 2 types of antibiotic & finished them yesterday. 500mg Amoxicillin X 3 times a day & Metronidazole 400mg X3 times a day. He was on these for 7 days. He now still has pain plus pain around kidneys and also pain in left testicle. He is a bit clammy too. Should I take him to the hospital? He had a very bad bleed about 2yrs ago when he lost 60% of his blood and ended up in hospital for 4 weeks. He went to see a surgeon (saw his intern) the week before Christmas & he told him just to up his pain medication & he's awaiting another colonoscopy. Was told he'd probably have to have a stoma & bag!! Is this normal??
I don't think our doctors is open on Saturday so should I take him to hospital instead?
