Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband had a triple heart bypass operation at the chest clinic and he had to be opened up twice due to internal bleeding. His actual operation seems to be successful but he has a pain now in his left arm.this pain has developed over the month and sometimes the pain is unbearable. He won t visit his go and is waiting for his follow up operation with his surgeon. The grafts were taken from his legs not his arms!i am so worried can you help?
Hi welcome to HCM I understand your query and concern. Pain in the left arm post surgery could be due to Intercostobrachial neuralgia. It could be treated with Analgesics and low dose steroids. No special tests are needed to diagnose this condition. So do not worry. Also get ECG,2 dimensional Echocardiography of your heart, lipid profile as a part of routine follow up.Also get PT INR if you are on warfarin.Continue Antiplatelets, antihypertensives, lipid lowering drugs without fail.Consult your cardiologist for expert management. Post your further queries if any, Thankyou
