What Causes Pain In Left Hip Radiating Towards Foot?

I am 52 years old, female in good health.Recently I am experiencing pain which radiates from my left hip, down the front of my leg through my quad, through my shins and down to the top of my left foot. It is often more prevalent at night and has woken me from sleep but seems to be present at some degree most of the time at the moment.

Hi,

The pain from hip to top of foot you have is a type of sciatic neuropathy. This could be due to local pressure on nerve at hip joint or it can be due to lumber vertebral problem. Consultation of an orthopedic surgeon, followed by needful X-ray / MRI imaging would confirm the cause .The suitable advise then can be done. Self care consists of rest, Pain tablet like Ibuprofen over the counter would give relief till you meet an expert. Please consult Orthopedic surgeon.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
