What Causes Pain In Left Side Of Back?

i have a problem. i get pains in the left side of my back but i am having to be very careful what i eat, if i eat a normal meal sometimes i get really bad pain in the left lest side of my chest and the pain in my back moves up higher. it lasts about 12 hours. sometimes i am really hungry but afraid to eat .whats wrong with me I'm loosing weight.

I have gone through your query. Problems like peptic ulcers can give radiating pain towards back like you mentioned. Even colitis can give such symptoms. A physical examination is necessary and in case of gastric signs a consultation with a gastroenterologist is well appreciated. Fibrogastroduodenoscopy might be needed to rule out peptic ulcer in case of signs of that. Proton pump inhibitors like rabeperazole , mucosal protectors like sucralfate and diet will be helpful for you in such case. Hope this may help you.
