Hello,

Pain in the left side of the body is commonly because of muscle strain, slipped disc, kidney stones, infection and injury to internal organs, muscles, or nerves, costochondritis, etc. You are suggested to stop smoking, drinking or addictions if any. Eat small portions of food at a time. You can eat multiple times. Eat food that is easily digestible. Stay well hydrated. Take lemon juice quite frequently. Take antacids and PPIs to relieve pain due to acid reflux or gastritis. Take NSAIDS, Naproxen / Combiflam, one SOS when required to ease pain, take the medicine after you have taken food.

Get under a Physiotherapist as stretch exercises and nerve stimulation, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) are equally effective. Get clinically examined by a Neurologist, you may be referred to an Orthopedics for further investigation and management. Get all tests, investigations and imaging tests done to get the treatment started at the earliest. You will be treated according to the symptoms and severity of the pathogens detected.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
