What Causes Pain In Left Side Of Chest Area With Normal CT And EKG?

I have a question…I took my friend to the ER yesterday because he was having chest pains on his left side and it was going up into his shoulder and neck along with nausea. This has been going on since Sunday afternoon. The doc took a CT, EKG, and Chest X-ray and found nothing. They released him saying he had sinus pressure and gave him antibiotics. He didn t feel that at all! It s still happening today but no nausea today. Any ideas?

Hello , Welcome to healthcare magic forum,

Thanks for your query and concern,

Left sided chest pain need not neccssarily suggest a cardiac pain, it can be a problem from the gastric side too, when there is hyperacidity,or even gall stones( if there is tightness felt in the chets) which mimics a cardiac pain, kindly ask your friend to visit the nearest General physician or get an endoscopy done and if further problem persists get an echo done that will clear all your doubts.
Hope this helps,
Wishing good health to ur friend
