What Causes Pain In Left Side Of Chest Despite Giving Paracetamol For Fever?
Hi I have a 9 year old son who has a cold (running nose & cough) from last Monday. Today, in the afternoon started to have chills and a temperature of 38.9 C. I gave him paracetamol & after some hours Ibuprofen and his temperature went down, but he is also complaining of having a pain in his left side (ribs) when he is breathing deeply or coughing. Should I go to the hospital?
hello i read your question and understand your concern in my opinion he is having URTI so first of all i would like to ask that * is he having sore throat as well so only anti pyretics and anti inflammatory are not going to treat his infection, for pain in ribs left side on taking deep breath/cough is not that much to be worried about as in cough this can happens, but i would suggest to take him to his pediatrician and have his one x-chest PA view done to see any doubts ( pneumonia ??) i hope my answer will satisfy you good luck & tc
