What Causes Pain In Leg After Vertebral End Plate Fracture?
I have an End Plate Fracture in L5 from a fall. The severe pain going down my left leg is unbearable. I know I need to get fitted for a TLSO. Both my legs froze about 2 weeks ago. The fall took place about 7 months ago. I am now at rehab learning how to walk again. I need to know how long this severe pain in my legs is going to last and will I be able to walk again?? Also, what is causing the severe pain in my legs.????
Dear patient Vertebral end plate fracture usually heals within two months completely and you would be relieved of pain. Pain in both legs can be explained by nerve root compression and disc prolapse. Was Mri done at the time of fall? If not done previously I recommend Mri of lumbosacral spine with screening of whole spine. It gives detail information about disc , nerve roots and even bones. So mri is must to search for cause. Meanwhile start tab diclofenac plus thiocolchicoside combination twice a day for pain relief. Wear lumbar corset for the time being. Once report is done visit expert spine surgeon.
