Hello,

You have a history of chronic RA. Pain in RA occurs due to inflammation of the synovial membrane that lubricates the joints. Lack of exercises in the joints causes joint erosion to start and hence pain may become severe and movements restricted. Take vitamin E rich food or supplements for better lubrication. Take food rich in minerals or multivitamins.

To manage pain do joint exercises, so that the joints get free and lubrication improves so that your mobility does not get restricted. Include pain relieving food like turmeric, ginger, blueberries, virgin olive oil, salmon-fish, pumpkin seeds, mint and red wine in limited portions. You may take analgesics or NSAIDS, one SOS if you can't withstand pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
