What Causes Pain In Lower Abdomen And Passing Of Green Stool?
I am a 24 yr old female. I experienced a severe cramping pain in the lower right and lower mid section of my abdomen. It could not be diagnosed at the school clinic but the doctor did say that it was not appendicitis or a vaginal problem. A few hours later i passed a very dark green stool. That would be the 2nd time i had such a painful cramping episode but the first time i passed such a dark green stool. on a side note i do have gastritis do you think that the cramping is related? or do you have any suggestions?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Green stools with abdominal cramping on the right and mid abdomen is surely indicative of an intestinal infection and hence I would advise you the following such a situation: Go to Er or a nearby hospital immediately for clinical evaluation, examination by a Doctor and investigations of stool, blood and urine along with X-ray and ultrasonography of abdomen so that an appropriate diagnosis and management can be started asap. You may need an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, Metronidazole, intravenous fluids and electrolyte, symptomatic and supportive treatment. Take care, rush to the nearby ER or hospital.
