What Causes Pain In Lower Back And Passing Of Dark Urine?

I am having lower back pain mainly on the right side that travels around to the front below the waist area. This morning when I urinated it was foamy and slightly dark. This foamy urine has happened again. Should I be overly concerned? What are the possible causes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,
Your symptoms are suggestive of some form of stagnation of urine due to an obstruction in the urinary tract . The pain that you have is also pushing the diagnosis towards a stone. You may have a kidney stone but to find it we would need to investigate it. A whole abdomen ultrasound will help us localize most stones.

There may also be a super added urinary tract infection. Please also get a urine culture and a urine examination done. Till that time have plenty of fluids and avoid high protein foods like meat or eggs.

Hope this helps,
Please feel free to address any further queries to me, I will try my best to help you,
I find this answer helpful
