What Causes Pain In Lower Back Radiating Towards Knee In A Diabetic?
i have a pain that starts in left lower back, goes through my left hip crosses over my left groin in to my left testicle, crosses over the bottom of my left thigh into my left knee.where it pretty much stops.this is also the same leg that i have been diagnosed with nuerapathy i wear diabetic shoes and i am a type 2 diabetic .any ideas or suggetions
It looks like you are a diabetic for more than 5 years and you mentioned that you already have diabetic neuropathy. This indicates that your blood sugar control was not optimum. The pain you are mentioning looks like a nerve pain coming from the bunch of nerves from the back. This is due to uncontrolled blood sugar affecting the blood supply to the nerves.
This may take days to weeks to improve and sometimes it goes away on its own. I would like to know about your latest HbA1c and your sugar reports and treatment. I would recommend this for a patient like yourself: * Usually good diabetes control * Physiotherapy * Tab Pregabalin for pain after discussing with your doctor
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Preeti Jolly, Endocrinologist
