What Causes Pain In Lower Left Abdominal Area Other Than Diverticulitis?

What causes pain in lower left abdominal area other than diverticulitis ? I ve been on 4 different antibiotics in the past month and the pain remains the same. Pain lessens when I lie down. When up and around, the pain also goes down my left leg and in the left side of my lower back. Feel nauseous and flushed but no fever. Thank you for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It will depend on age. Causes could be gastritis, kidney stones, colitis or peptic ulcer disease. The leg and back pain is mostly likely due to disc prolapse.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sheikh Zubair, General & Family Physician
