Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your symptoms as your tooth has a crown placed on it and it pains on biting down it shows there is some infection in the tooth which has extended to the level of the area outside the root tips leading to pain on biting..
If the tooth is
root canal treated before crown placement some infection could have re-occured causing pain and in case root canal was not done, some infection reaching the underlying tooth if the crown is not well fitting or if the cementing material have dissolved can infect the tooth leading to pain.
One reason can be that as you have got the opposing tooth placed recently so any high points present on the tooth in the crown can lead to excessive pressure and can cause pain on chewing.
I would suggest you to consult your
dentist and get evaluated and an
x ray can help in ruling out the cause of pain and treatment will be done accordingly..
Mild infections in root canal treatments can be resolved by antibiotics.
If the non root canal treated tooth gets infected then removal of crown and root canal needs to be done..
In case of high points just trimming of high points will resolve the problem.
Hope your query is solved..
