What Causes Pain In Lower Pelvic Area?

I have had severe pains in lower pelvix area, on both sides, but, mostly on the left. Almost like menstrual cramps in a way...it comes and goes, and has for years....it has recently resurfaced, and the worst it has ever been. I have taken Aleve, but, to no avail this time.

Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and will help you in the best way possible.

Chronic pelvic pain can be due to a number of conditions like Endometriosis, Pelvic Inflamatory Disease, Adhesions, Pelvic congestion stndrome, adenomyosis , Leiomyoma, dysmenorrhea or any ovarian pathology. You may require to undergo diagnostic evaluation for the same which may include a complete physical examination, complete blood count with differential and ESR, urine analysis, tests for gonorrhoea and chlamydia infection, a pregnanct test amongst others. It is best advisable for you to consult a gynec who can get you investigated a formulate a treatment plan for the same.
