Hello,
Pain in the lungs in rainy season can be due to pollen grains / air pollutants that are carried by the wind. Humid or hot weather can also bring breathing problems if you have symptoms of COPD, asthma, pneumonia, etc. You are suggested to get pulmonary function tests, blood workouts, sputum tests, CT/MRI done to detect the cause of the discomfort. To rule out
rotator cuff tear, OA, radiculopathy,
brachial plexus issues, etc you can take the help of a Physiotherapist. You will have to go through a few tests and blood workouts done.
However, since you are a chronic smoker, you are suggested to gradually quit smoking. Join a detox center (so that the
withdrawal symptoms will be managed urgently and you stay comfortable). It is good to know that X-ray was normal but shoulder blade pain or pain below it may be indicative of serious medical conditions like Pleurisy,
pancoast tumor, lung cancer, etc. Do not neglect yourself. Get treated at the earliest. For relieve you can take
acetaminophen or Naproxen, one SOS when required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
