What Causes Pain In Lungs And Cough After Quitting Smoking?
it feels like I have pain on my lungs front and back. The pain isn t severe but it s there nonetheless. I also have a cough the causes slight pain in my windpipe close to my heart. I have recently given up smoking after 16 years and am sure this is smoking related.

What Causes Pain In Lungs And Cough After Quitting Smoking?
Hello, I read carefully your query and understand your concern. The cough can be related to the fact that you quit smoking. It is caused by the recovery of the airways. The mucus is cleared from your lungs and this might cause cough more than usual perhaps for several weeks. I suggest to soothe your throat with cough drops, lozenges, or a salt water gargle. Drink 6–8 glasses of water per day to keep the mucus in your lungs and throat thin. Elevate your head above the rest of your body while you sleep to make sure mucus doesn t gather in your throat. Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again. Kind regards! Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi General &Family Physician
