What Causes Pain In Mid Back Radiating To Leg With Mild Nausea?

My husband is 60 years old and has been having mid back pain on his left side and nausea for 2 days now. We have been using heat and Advil. It seems to have subsided now however, now it has traveled to his leg. He says it hurt really bad and then went numb. His foot turned really white for about 10-15 min but has since had the color return. Says it still feels a little numb and he still feels yucky.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to nerve compression at lumbar level.

For further assessment you may require MRI back, nerve conduction studies after spine surgeon consultation.

You may require surgical intervention after surgeon consultation.

You can take tablet pregabalin and multivitamin after consultation.

Do regular physical therapy.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
