What Causes Pain In Middle Of Right Abdomen?

I have moderate pain mid right abdomen frontside for past 3 days...been doing milk of magnesia and pepto bismol....bowel movement does not relieve pain for long maybe 15 minutes then it comes back....ginger ale helps for a few minutes here and there. I did not pull or strain anything just seems like a stomach flu. No vomiting or nausea.

Hi,

There are several possible causes of pain in the middle of the right abdomen, including gastrointestinal issues, urinary tract problems, and even gynecological issues in women. Some possible conditions that may cause this type of pain include:
* Appendicitis: This is inflammation of the appendix, which is a small pouch located in the lower right abdomen.
* Gallstones: These are small, hard stones that form in the gallbladder, a small organ located in the upper right abdomen.
* Gastroenteritis: Also known as stomach flu, it's an infection of the digestive tract that can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting.
* Kidney stones: These are small, hard mineral deposits that form in the kidneys and can cause severe pain when they move through the urinary tract.
* Peptic ulcer disease: This is a sore that develops in the lining of the stomach or small intestine and can cause abdominal pain and other symptoms.
* Inflammatory bowel disease: This is a chronic condition that can cause inflammation in the digestive tract and lead to abdominal pain, diarrhea, and other symptoms.

Given your symptoms, it is possible that you are experiencing some form of gastrointestinal issue such as gastroenteritis or peptic ulcer disease. However, other conditions cannot be ruled out without a proper medical evaluation. It's recommended to seek medical attention to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and receive appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
