General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The pain you described can be due to raised pabdominal pressure with gas collection under diaphragm (due to damaged intestinal flora ny post operative antibiotic intake) OR by pressure built up by your left lateral position. You can try by: - Avoiding troublesome posture of sleeping - Avoid heavy food intake & lack of exercises. Have small, light & nutritive food in multiple servings (3 hourly), have enough of fibers in diet - Add digestive enzymes & lactobacillus supplements over the counter to your diet
If there is no relief in 8-10 days PR the problem increases, consult your surgeon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
