Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing a pulsating, throbbing pain in the left side of my neck. It is not constant but more when I stand or bend over and sometimes all of a sudden. I also had pain under my left rib cage and down my arm. The pain in rib cage and arm is not as bad as it was when this started Sunday evening after dinner.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of pulsatile pain in the left side of the neck particularly after bending, and standing, pain in the left rib cage and down the arm. This indicates that there is cervical spondilitis or muscle spam or a prolapsed disc problem in the neck. I would advise you the following: Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and advise you the investigations of MRI of the neck as well as relevant blood tests. Once the diagnosis is established, you will be treated according to the cause found. You may need an anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxants along with local rubrafacient liniments. Take further care to avoid recurrence.
