Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In My Right Buttock Especially While Walking?
I have severe pain in my right buttock and somewhat less pain in my left buttock when I walk more than a hundred yards or so, or when I go up stairs. If I sit down the pain goes away almost immediately. After a short rest I can again walk a ways before the pain returns. I can stand and work in my small work shop for hours without pain. The pain only occurs when I walk forward or climb stairs. To date, I have had three spinal injections to no avail. After those, I had spinal surgery, also to no avail. I am now scheduled to see a cardiovascular specialist for possible blood flow blockage in my legs. It s beginning to seem like trial and error with no one having a clue as to what the problem really is. Any suggestions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. The symptoms seem to be related to a sciatica pain. I recommend usign painkillers such as Iburpofen 400 mg three times a day. I also suggest to do gentle streching exercises. If the symptoms continue, you should consult a neurologist for further evaluation.
