What Causes Pain In Neck Radiating Down The Back Along With Swollen Lymph Nodes?

I have a swollen lymph node on the right and left side of my neck above my collar bone. No pain to touch but I do have some neck pain that radiates down my shoulder on my back. The right side does not have any symptoms. I did have breast cancer in 2008 and had both breast and all tissue removed. I am sort of freaking out a bit. Can anyone tell me maybe what might be going on.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, bilateral lymph nodes enlargement in cervical region after previous history of breast surgery for carcinoma may be indicative of metastasis likely. The clinical criteria of examination in terms of consistency, mobility of lymph nodes matter a lot for evaluation between benign and malignant possibilities. Biopsy of one of the lymph nodes or FNAC is the utmost perfect answer to the possible cause and management guidelines accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
