What Causes Pain In Penis After Treatment Of Bronchitis?

My boyfriend had bronchitis for approx 3 1/2 wks. He didnt begin a 5-day antibiotic & a cough syrup with codeine til 1 1/2 wks after he started feeling sick. Upon completing the antibiotic, he could not kick the bad cough & his doctor prescribed another antibiotic about 5 days after finishing the first antibiotic.
The coughing has subsided and he is supposedly over the bronchitis. About a week after finishing the 2nd antibiotic, he buckled in intense pain around his penis. Unfortunately, he doesn't want to discuss this with me. I told him it could be a number of things...particularly with his prostate. He is close to 50yrs old and has never shared with me if he has ever had a problem with his prostate.
Could the virus that caused the bronchitis or the antibiotics have any type of effect that would cause this kind pain in his penis or groin area?
