What Causes Pain In Rib And Chest Area?

. i have recently been experiencing sharp pain in my rib/chest area and when i lay in other positions the pain spreads to my back. the sharp pains occur whenever i breathe especially when i breathe deeply. i also have shortness of breath and fast breaths. Also sometimes when i breathe in it feels like there are air bubbles in my ribs this fixes itself after about 2 days at the most but comes back about every 2 weeks. Ive never had any serious injuries or traumas so i dont know what would cause this so i wanted to know what this could be.

Hi,

Pain in the rib area and chest pain can have multiple causes. First of all, you need to take rest, avoid lifting heavy weight or doing heavy exercises. if needed you can even take a pain killer. However, I feel if the symptoms persist you must get yourself investigated, especially get an ECG and chest X-ray done. With the investigations, we will be able to find the exact cause.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
