Well good afternoon! My name is Ashley I am 29 years old and I weight about 200 lbs and I m 5ft 6... I have been having pains behind my ribs, coughing feels as if someone is sitting on my chest I can t seem to get a deep breath. My left breast feels as if it is swollen and it is tender at times. I have been taking hot showers trying to catch my breath but something is obviously wrong!! I went to the hospital last week and they said it was anxiety. I m not so sure that s what it is. When I take a deep breath I can t seem to get it. I m constantly trying to clear my throat. My chest hurts when I breath. Can someone please help me out or tell me what they may think it is!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi,
Pain behind ribs associated with coughing should be investigated. Pleurisy should be ruled out. Auscultation should be done by physician or pulmonologist and X-ray chest should be taken. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs will be helpful to clear it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
