What Causes Pain In Rib With History Of Respiratory Infection?

I have bad rib pain at the moment has been about 3 days now it feels to be from the side to the front on right side about rib #6, 7 &8. I had a respiratory infection about 3 weeks ago with a really bad cough. This has pasted but left with pain. Thanks

Since , you are having excruciating pain in the rib area , just for three days . But the cause of concern is that you were a patient of some respiratory infection with bad cough 3 weeks , that is the point of concern. May be due to these reasons.
1Pleaural effusion , diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest.
2 Consolidation non-healed , diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest.
3 Thickened pleura .
In my opinion there are so many reasons of such pain and cough .
So , this pain is for 3 days ( 3 weeks ) so consult a PULMONOLOGIST( chest & tuberculosis specialist) and get his opinion.
