What Causes Pain In Ribs Below The Breasts?

I am having mild to moderate pain in my ribs right below my breasts that goes all the way around my back where my bra line is. It feels really tight like i can not fully take a breath of air. I have experienced this pain previously during pregnancy with my second child but at that time the pain was excruciating. My doctor prescribed me Norco pills but I did not take them. This pain comes and goes and I can t seem to find relief in any position.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The possibility of acute costochondritis may be considered as first possible diagnosis here. Apart from starting consumption of Norco pills, following measures will help you:
- Heating pad use
- Spray of analgesic content such as Diclofenac or Capsaicin
- Avoid tight fitting bra use

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
