Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having pains in my right lower abdomen, but it just started today randomly after a long weekend in Vegas. I am wondering if it has to do with what i have been eating/drinking, or if it could be something more serious? When do i know when to go to the doctors? I don t think I have a fever...
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. There are many reasons for right sided lower abdominal pain. It may be due to constipation, intestinal infection, renal or ureter stone, appendicitis, inguinal hernia etc. If you are having low fiber fast food items since a week than the pain could be due to constipation. I advise you to have high fiber diet like bananas and other fruits and vegetables. You can have curd in your meals. You can wait for another week. If the pain persist or worsens then you should consult your doctor for further investigations like blood tests and ultrsonography of abdomen. Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care. Thank you.
