What Causes Pain In Right Flank Region And Left Rib When Diagnosed With Sarcoidosis?

Hello.I am 36, male with IDDM, Sarcoidosis of Lungs Skin and Liver. I have advanced liver disease. I also have gallstones. I am having an irregular dull achy pain in my right flank and the exact same pain (but not as severe) just behind the front of my left rib. Does this warrant medical attention. Pain is between 4 to 6 on a scale of 1 to 10.Thanks,John

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the pain in one flank with underlying sarcoidosis may be in relation to:
- Hydronephrosis
- Pyelonephritis
- Calclus in the kidney, pelvi ureteric junction, ureter
- Extension of sarcoidosis to kidneys

There is definite need of medical consultation to precisely diagnose the case and manage accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
