What Causes Pain In Right Foot Despite Taking Meloxicam For Sesamoiditis?
years ago i had been diagnosed with Sesamoiditis on my right foot. in addition to that i ve had surgery on my right ankle as well as acl on my right knee so my leg is anything but 100% healthy. last wednesday i was walking in shoes that had little to no support and out of nowhere the pain in the ball of my right foot was sharp and excruciating. i tried to minimize the weight on my foot for the rest of the day and was taking meloxicam 7.5mg for another issue. since then i have now developed numbness in my big toe that comes and goes but has been constant since last week. the ball of my foot is still painful. last night i also started to feel a numbness in places through my leg; my calf, my lower buttock, all in addition to the complete numbness of my big toe. I m now rather concerned that this is not just sesamoiditis and i might have a nerve issue...
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in right foot despite taking Meloxicam for sesamoiditis . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sciatica , tendinitis , disc problem or peripheral neuropathy . Other causes can be: -Obesity. -Stress Fractures. -Arthritis -Bunion etc.
I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x-ray, MRI Scan, blood tests to check for arthritis, gout and diabetes can help. -You can be advised to take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen , Naproxen . -Do cool compresses over the foot. -Limit standing hours. -Avoid excess exertion and also high impact exercises. -Insoles or Orthotics can also be advised. -You can also be advised Physiotherapy for relief..
In case if there is no resolution at times steroid injections and surgical treatment can also be advised.
