What Causes Pain In Right Foot Long After Injury?

My husband dropped a large box on his right foot about 6 months ago. He didn t go to the doctor at the time. Recently it started to hurt again in the same spot, on the top closer to his pinky toe. He just got an X-ray last week to determine if it was broken. It s not. What could be causing him such pain?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Is there any swelling or skin discolouration over there? This might suggest a contusion, although it is unlikely to persist this long. If no swelling, and the pain is not severe, we need not worry now, as a fracture is already ruled out. Just try an analgesic like Ibuprofen for 3 days. Consult an orthopedist if the problems persist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
