Hi,
* As per my clinical experience, the
severe pain under heel of sole while starting walking does indicate grave disturbances with the mechanics of the leg bones and ligaments.
* The most possible cause and possibility is plantar
calcaneal spur which is bony over growth over the tip of calcaneal bone which is considered as weight bearing point on the back of the sole part.
However, in my clinic, after thorough clinical examination, I do suggest an x-ray of the foot AP and oblique lateral view for best evaluation of bony surfaces and guide line of actions accordingly.
Till that time, follow basic rules to get better:
- avoid walking barefoot
- use soft padded slippers
- avoid use of tight shoes if consuming
- local application of
heating pad or lukewarm water immersion for 2-3 times a day
- control of blood sugar
- control BMI below 24
- generous use of anti inflammatory medicines as
diclofenac or
Ibuprofen after meals if no history of drug sensitivity.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
