Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a sore right shoulder, I have been working out lifting weights, chopping wood, golfing, etc. but the soreness now runs up the side of my neck behind my ear. Any chance of something besides a pinched nerve, i.e. blocked artery/vein? Or just old age saying hello? Thanks for your help.
There are several reasons behind this conditions like excessive work (tiredness), muscle spasms (lifting weight), sprained shoulder joint and finally wear and tear related to old age.
However whatever be the cause you go for a x ray of shoulder joint, cervical vertebrae to rule out any bone pathology. Based on the report treatment will be decided.
Meanwhile take pain killers (tramadol), muscle relaxant (trazoxone) and physiotherapy (heat, stretching). If x ray reports are fine this treatment will give you relief in 3 to 4 days. Take rest of few days.
I hope my reply will benefit you. Please write for subsequent queries. Kindly rate my reply. I wish you good health and happy living in future. Thank you
