What Causes Pain In Shoulders Post Torn Rotator Cuff Correction Surgery?

I am a 67 year old female. I have had surgery to correct torn rotator cuff on both shoulders. This year I have started having knee problems and my right shoulder is starting hurting quite a bit in the last few months. The orthopedic doctor who operated on my shoulders told me that he thought he would have to put a graft(?) on my shoulder because my connective tissue was so bad. He said he thinks I may have a mild case of a inherited connective tissue disease such as EDS. Hen I asked how many cases he had seen like my shoulder, he said never and he s done hundreds of shoulder surgeries. Is it possible to have a mild case of EDS?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* The issue sounds to be related to underlying ligament sprain or
fibrosis at the operated part rather than Ehler Denlos syndrome.

* At the age of 67, there is obvious explanation of knee pain in terms
of arthritis rather than EDS.

Should discuss the need of lab work and x-ray with or without MRI of the concerned regions with your surgeon during next scheduled follow up visit.

Thanks.
Regards.
