What Causes Pain In Suprasternal Notch While Suffering From Costochondritis?

Hi I have pain in my suprasternal notch when I swallow. I have bouts of costocondritis and wonder if this is related. Every so often I feel a pain when I swallow, but in the last few days it has been everyday. If I message my ribs or the area it is relieved briefly. Could this be muscle related or should I be concerned that it may be something else?

This is related to costochondritis. Apply ice and take pain killers. It should clear in a few weeks.
