Hello,
Pain in the tailbone is commonly caused by trauma to the coccyx during a fall, prolonged sitting on a hard or narrow surface, degenerative joint changes, coccydynia, etc. Pain in the tailbone is a localized pain that worsens when sitting or with any activity that puts pressure on the bottom of the spine. Your mother should sit on a doughnut-shaped pillow or wedge (V-shaped) cushion. She should lean forward while sitting down to ease discomfort.
Apply heat or ice to the affected area effectively eases pain. She can take
acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Combiflam, one SOS after food for relief.
Physical therapy is recommended. A physical therapist might show her how to do
pelvic floor relaxation techniques and exercises. Massaging the muscles attached to the tailbone gently eases pain. Give her home made nutritious food to boost immunity. Get her clinically examined and treated at the earliest. Her treating doctors may recommend antidepressants, etc., to relieve
tailbone pain. The doctors mar suggest coccydectomy when other treatments fail.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
