Hello,
Your dad is suffering from
testicular pain. Testicular pain is commonly due to kidney stones, inguinal hernia,
epididymitis (
testicular inflammation),
hydrocele, etc. The other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are
prostatitis (infection or inflammation of the prostate),
testicular torsion,
testicular injury,
diabetic neuropathy, UTI, etc.
Your dad is suggested to get examined by a
Urologist. Get
urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done. He may need a course of antibiotics if UTI is detected. He should take adequate amount of water and fluids to flush out the toxicity. If diabetic, blood glucose level should be controlled at all cost. He can take NervUp OD, once daily for 10 days if the symptoms are due to diabetic neuropathy, he should take food rich in vitamin B6 & B12.
However, he should get routine blood tests and imaging tests done to detect kidney stones, etc. Hernia and hydrocele if detected will be treated with medicines and surgery if needed. In the meantime, he can take
acetaminophen or
Combiflam / Naproxen, one SOS when needed for symptomatic relieve from pain and discomfort.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
