Hello,
Stomachache after eating, pain in the epigastric area can be many causes. Such as
peptic ulcer,
pancreatitis,
gallbladder stone, GERD or
dyspepsia. For Dyspepsia, peptic ulcer and GERD it will respond to
Zantac. But Zantac can be intolerance after use 2 weeks, its mean that its not work any more. On my practice, I always use PPI such
omeprazole and change the lifestyle that induces stomachache is the fist choice of treatment if not better I increase the dose. But if still not better I add
Ranitidine. If still not better I send the patient to upper GI scope to see what is a real diagnosis.
Pain in the body means that there is something wrong. If you experience pain after eating only every once in a while and it is not debilitating, you may want to mention it to your doctor. But if you are experiencing pain after eating on a fairly frequent basis, it is essential that you make an appointment right away with your doctor to ensure that you get an accurate diagnosis and come up with a right treatment plan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
